Booting to Windows Desktop Windows 8.1

Booting directly to the App screen is one of the annoyances of switching to Windows 8.1.† I want it to boot to the desktop.

Donít get me wrong, the App screen is growing on me but I only use a few apps like the Internet Explorer 11 App and only when Iím using it on the tablet.† In the last blog Posting I showed everyone how to get their Start Menu back, this one will show you how to boot directly to the desktop.

Right Click on the Task Bar and select Properties

Select Properties

Taskbar Properties

This will bring up Taskbar and Navigation properties.† Select the Navigation tab and select the two boxes circled in the picture below.† Then click on Apply and Ok, and then youíre done!
